Tree Care

Tree Pruning & Removal

Above and Beyond Services offers residential and commercial tree pruning, tree removal, and shrub pruning. As a licensed and insured company, we can offer you FREE estimates on any tree or shrub issue you may be concerned about.

When our project estimators come to your property, they will explain exactly what needs to be done to the tree, and how we will safely and efficiently complete the project. By following the national standards of tree pruning, trained climbers and bucket truck operators have the experience needed to leave your tree healthy and properly taken care of.

On site, all debris will be hauled away or chipped to ensure the job is 100% complete. Once the tree is removed, upon request, we will also grind the stump 4-6 inches below the grade of the surface including all surface roots.

Don’t forget, if we remove a tree for you, we can also plant a new tree! Be sure to ask your project estimator for a quote on planting a new tree.

Lawn Care

The Above and Beyond Services lawn care department specializes in fertilization, weed control, disease control, and insect control of residential and commercial lawns. Our certified technicians are trained to spot problems and treat them before they cause extensive damage. The weed and feed program is an easy and affordable way to maintain the health of your lawn and keep it weed and disease free. This includes a five application, season long program, which starts in early spring and ends in late summer/early fall. These treatments contain granular and liquid applications including broadleaf weed control and spot spraying crabgrass. During this time, our licensed professionals will inform you of any other treatments that may benefit the health of your yard. Once the liquid applications have dried, they are safe for children and pets.

Grub Control

Grubs are a common turf pest that chew the roots of grass and cause death and brown spots. We recommend application in the spring and fall of a granular insecticide that will keep grubs from damaging your Above & Beyond Services. One of the most common grubs is the Japanese Beetle which lay their eggs in lawns in the fall and emerge in the spring and move to ornamental plants. Grub control is an effective way to help prevent damage to ornamental plants caused by Japanese Beetles.

Mite Control

Colorado experiences long dry winters which provide necessary conditions for lawn mite production. The two most common types of lawn mites are Banks Grass Mite and Clover Mites that prefer South and West facing lawns. If gone untreated, mites can cause extensive damage to turf areas as well as costly lawn reconstruction. We recommend treating them in late February or early March to ensure a healthy-looking lawn for the summer.

Plant Health Care

Above and Beyond Services has an experienced plant health care department which provides insect and disease controls for ornamental trees and shrubs. This program is based on integrated pest management to detect diseases early and administer treatments to prevent long term vegetation damage. One of the most significant components of a successful plant health care department is having experienced field technicians who are experts in identifying pest and disease problems. Each property we visit is treated like it is our own. We take time to familiarize ourselves with the area, to ensure your plants are safe and beautiful throughout the year.

Protect your Ash!

The emerald ash borer is an invasive pest introduced from Asia that is responsible for the death of millions of trees in the United States. It was first found in Boulder in 2013 and has now spread to all municipalities within Boulder County. To protect your Ash tree, we recommend using the arborjet injection system to treat your tree every two years. This has been found to be the most effective treatment in combating the emerald ash borer. Call today to get a FREE estimate on protecting your Ash!

Maintain Healthy Trees

Deep root feeding trees in spring and fall is the best way to maintain healthy ornamental plant growth. Feeding your trees only twice a year will help fight off future disease problems, promote root growth, and support a balanced soil ecosystem. Deep root injections limit the amount of pesticides being sprayed into the air and are not just restricted to feeds. We can control different kinds of pests by injecting directly into the tree or the surrounding soil. Although we encourage injections, some pest species are only treatable by spraying the tree directly.

Japanese Beetle Control

A major challenge in controlling Japanese beetles is being able to spray pesticides that will kill off the beetle without harming the surrounding pollinators. Our team at Above and Beyond Services understands the severity of this problem, and as a result, has found a chemical that is harmless to pollinators and effective against Japanese Beetles. Contact us today to learn more and protect your flowering plants.

Dutch Elm Disease

After a 12-year hiatus from the Denver metro area, Dutch Elm Disease was rediscovered in the summer of 2023 in the south Park Hill neighborhood. This disease is detrimental to the American Elm population in Denver. If you have an American Elm tree, contact us to discuss treatment options. During the 1980s and 1990s, Denver faced a severe outbreak of Dutch Elm Disease which caused a large number of our beautiful American Elms to die. Additionally, since the disease has been studied and we have advanced in arboriculture, they now offer varieties of Elm trees which have been found to be Dutch Elm Disease resistant.

Common Pest Issues in Ornamentals

Ips beetle, mountain pine beetle, mites and aphids, kermes scale, European elm scale, elm leafminer, tent caterpillars, pine needle scale, locust plant bug, and common leaf feeding insects.
